North Kensington: free creative workshops for families this summer holiday

Is your family based in North Kensington? Join us this summer holiday at our community studio and forest school to explore chain reactions, ripples and weight, using clay, sound, costume-making and storytelling. With artists Camilla Brendon, Flora Duley, Josh Bilton and Nicole Morris.
Our Flourish ‘Ripple’ workshops are free and will take place at ACAVA Maxilla Walk Studios and forest school between 31 July and 21 August 2024. Sessions are inclusive, free to access and light refreshments will be served.

Programme
Week 1: Wed 31 Jul – Fri 2 Aug, 10.30am–12.30pm
Join artist Nicole Morris at our community studio and forest school to create chain reactions using sound, storytelling, paint balloon bombing, cyanotypes and more!
Week 2: Wed 7 Aug – Fri 9 Aug, 10.30am–12.30pm
Collaborate with artist Flora Duley to create beautiful clay forms, sea beads and suspended sculptural mobiles inspired by the sea, breeze, ripples and waves.
Week 3: Tue 13 Aug – Thu 15 Aug, 10.30am–12.30pm
Explore the ripple effect of energy and ideas with artist Camilla Brendon, and make positivity charms and words to spread throughout the community.
Week 4: Mon 19 Aug – Wed 21 Aug, 10.30am–12.30pm
Work with artist Josh Bilton to explore the weight of endangered birds through sculpture, costume and storytelling. We’ll be thinking of the movement of a ripple poetically as the sharing of weight, where a stone shares its weight with water and changes its form, or the air shares its weight with the water and changes its movements.
