Leatherworking: Creative Thinking and Design is a free, four-day workshop led by Yusuf Osman.
Over four days, gain a comprehensive overview of what’s entailed when working with leather. This course will combine theory with hands-on knowledge about design, patternmaking and capabilities of the material.
Make and Reuse Creative Workshops is ACAVA’s programme of free creative courses to inspire us to reuse materials, contribute to the circular economy and make our everyday more sustainable, running from ACAVA’s community makerspace Maxilla Men’s Shed. In 2024, the Shed will be hosting four new courses on furniture modification, contemporary marquetry, leatherwork and circular carpentry.
Register now for the third free course in the new series of this year’s Make and Reuse Creative Workshops. Register your interest here.
Please note, priority spaces for the Make and Reuse programme will be offered to the North Kensington community. There are a limited number of spaces on this course, and we will notify you if you have been given a place.
About Yusuf Osman
Yusuf Osman is on a mission to get the world talking about leather. Leather has shaped human civilisation and is the only material that connects farm, food, fashion and beyond. Engaging with this material through the act of craft can help us navigate the complex issues that we face as individuals and, as a society. In doing so uncover the threads that connect us all.
