General Manager

Permanent, full time. £34,000 - £36,000 p/a depending on experience. Flexible and remote working options would be considered for this role.

We are looking for a confident, self-motivated and organised General Manager to balance the operational with the people-led needs of the charity through strong relationship management and effective systems.

The General Manager interacts with all of ACAVA’s teams and requires responsibility, flexibility, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to handle numerous projects and competing demands simultaneously.

You will organise, maintain and adapt our systems and processes to ensure they are effective, follow best practices and provide a welcoming and inclusive work environment with our values at the core.

The General Manager, supported by colleagues, is responsible for the efficient allocation and occupancy of our studios and other facilities - including exhibition spaces and workshops.

You will support the management team (Head of Finance and Administration, Senior Programme Manager, Head of Fundraising and Head of Communications and Marketing) to deliver their business objectives.

You will also work closely with and assist the CEO on organisational and business development, stakeholder relationships and project management.

Studios Manager

Permanent, full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days a week) £30,000 PA pro rata

We are looking for a Studios Manager to help us:

  • support the provision of safe and fit for purpose artists’ studio workspaces and related facilities across ACAVA’s property portfolio
  • manage a programme of regular maintenance works to ensure that our properties are in good condition and buildings, studios and workspaces meet required health and safety standards.
  • oversee adherence to the terms and conditions of leases, insurance policies, maintain accurate up to date records of works on our IT systems and keep the General Manager and colleagues informed as necessary.
